Electrical cords, water, and safety

I really dislike electricity.  I think that the reason stems from childhood,when a friend of mine got zapped playing in a treehouse.  Seems that wet tree branches touched a 7600 KV electrical line, passed down the tree,  going through Bobby who was somehow grounded.  It burned his arm severely, to the point of disability, and he was in the hospital forever with skin grafts and other issues.
